A Focus on Building a Godly Home

A Focus on Building a Godly Home

God has set the family as the foundation of society.  As stewards of our homes, we hold an invaluable position in this union.  When we know and understand the roles and goals of the job God has given to us, we can stand confident of our calling to serve and support in the home that He is building.

Psalm 127:1

Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.

It is in yielding to God’s will in our own lives that the purpose He has for us in our homes is filled. One of the best lines that was shared with me at the beginning of my SAHHM journey was this:  He doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called.  When I truly understood this, I can not tell you the relief that came over me.  God’s got this, sister.  It does not fully depend on you.  He works with us where we are.  So, no matter where we are in our walk, regardless of our circumstances, when we yield to Him we can be assured that our homes will be blessed.

But, how do we keep our balance when the challenges come?  Through topical writings, I examine those things which press in on us – those things which demand that we take God out of the driver’s seat – and I share practical management strategies which put us in the best position to align ourselves with God’s revealed will so that we may serve Him and experience the best that He has for us and our family.

May we humbly accept and remain thankful for the blessing of this servant gift, and may we honor God by giving our best to Him each and every day.

17 Whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus [and in dependence on Him], giving thanks to God the Father through Him. (from Colossians Chapter 3)
